Mumbai 26/11 verdict: Once again it was proved that we are not traitors

The verdict on the Mumbai attack has come. For us, one bright aspect of the judgement is that two Indian Muslim youths accused in the case have been acquitted by the court. On the one side, the court has observed that Fahim Ansari and Sabahuddin had been falsely implicated by the police and that there were no strong evidences against them. On the other hand it pronouced that it was a war against the state. The court has not only rightly felt but also emphasised on the fact that no Indian Muslim can be involved in the war against his own country. After the pronouncement of the judgement, the lawyers of both the accused echoed the view that the court's verdict had proved the fact that no Indian--Hindu or Muslim-- can ever participate in the war against the country. -- Maulana Asrarul Hasan Qausmi (Journalist and Member of Parliament).
