Siraj is right as people are slowly loosing faith in the political system, faith in the administration. The political class must strengthen the system and restore faith of the people by reforming itself than to indulge in petty bickering, is the general refrain.

In the mayhem of Mumbai terror attack, the citizen of this nation stood together, united to face the brunt. In the darkness that permeated all around during the siege of Mumbai and thereafter, there was a silver lining nonetheless.

Where everything failed, our security, our intelligence network our establishment, the spirit of Mumbai once again prevailed. This is where the terrorists from across the border failed in their nefarious design, a plan that unarmed citizens of the city thwarted.

Dr Naik, don’t fool people with these extended logics. There are so many tools to fight injustices and you belong to a country which won its independence through non-violence in the face of aggressive British imperialism. Had Mahatma Gandhi also felt that terrorism was the only way to get the British out of India, we may have remained confined in the yoke of colonialism as yet.

Did Prophet Muhammad (SAW) retaliate against the woman in Makkah who used to throw garbage on him everyday whenever he passed by. On the contrary, he went to enquire about her health once she fell ill. The Prophet (SAW) earned her goodwill this way and won the heart of the people. It is your action and ‘seerat’ that speaks and not retaliation.

Dr Naik, communalism cannot be fought with communalism; the only weapon you have is secularism. Terrorism and extremism, which you justify, has to be fought with reasoning and logic and not by terror. India, our country is a glaring example of fighting terrorism for well over three decades and yet we maintained our unity, pluralism and identity.

No Zakir Naik. Stop this non sense. You are living in pluralistic society, a nation which has assimilated so many cultures and has given you the freedom of speech and even allowed your abominable Peace TV on air. Don’t let it fritter away with your concoction and later self denials. You also live in a world which has now grown into a global village so there are rooms for everyone, every ideology to prosper.

Terrorist attack on Mumbai: A Tale of debauchery and anti-Islamism

The ghastly incident has shocked all of us. This gory incident can never have any place in any civilized society. Like my fellow countrymen, I also weep for the innocents who lost their lives and join them in prayers that these terrorists be exterminated from the face of earth.

But why I thank India TV was its graphic reporting on how the terrorists at Nariman House went to the market in Colaba and bought 20 kilograms of chicken and liquor worth Rs 35,000 to sustain them for three days.

Throughout the operation at Nariman Housie these terrorists including one by the name of Imran Babar used to have chicken and consumed liquor and then used to shoot outside at our security forces.

It is also true that his accomplices - the picture shows them as clean shaven and in contemporary attire - who were holed up in Taj and Oberoi, also consumed liquor.

When the 9/11 volcano erupted in New York and other parts of the US, the terrorist including Mohammed Atta and his group reportedly used to frequent night clubs and bars. A day before the attack took place Atta is said to have spent the night at a club, drinking, womanizing and enjoying.
