The Obnoxious Sar Tan Se Juda Syndrome Has Engulfed Hindus As Well

By Sumit Paul, New Age Islam 6 September 2023 Paramhans Acharya, a seer from Ayodhya, released a video that showed him holding a poster of Udhayanidhi in one hand and a sword in the other, and staging the symbolic beheading of the DMK minister. He was also seen setting the poster on fire. The seer announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for anyone who beheads the DMK leader. Paramhans Acharya announced a reward of ₹10 crore for beheading the DMK leader over his remarks against 'Sanatan Dharma.(X) ----- This immature DMK minister wants to 'eradicate Sanatan Dharm.'But why are Hindus behaving like the savage Muslims who scream from the rooftops to give crores of rupees to the Ghazis and Momins who'll behead the blasphemers? Sad to say, that obnoxious 'Sar Tan Se Juda' Syndrome has engulfed Hindus as well. Following the current political dispensation's overwhelming victory in 2014, an editorial in a leading US newspaper stated that, 'When blatantly religious outfits become powerful political powers, they religiously envenom all.' This is happening in India. Now all political parties and even ordinary people are parroting religious rhetoric. Stalin Jr. may have said something objectionable. But why did he say this in the first place? He mentioned the ills of Hinduism and that cannot be airbrushed. Can you deny Sati Pratha, Casteism, Brahminical Hegemony, Elimination of a girl child, among others? Quite a few practices are still prevalent in Hinduism. Has Hinduism become free of casteism? Shouldn't all this be eradicated? The foolish man may not have meant throwing the baby out with the bathwater. What he meant was elimination of certain regressive practices and purging Hinduism of its inherent ills. The unprecedented rain deficit may soon snowball into innumerable existential issues but the foolish and most fanatic people of this country are still arguing over who insulted whose god and faith. We're worse than Banana Republics. Religion has become a favourite pastime for unemployed, unemployable and indolent lotus eaters. When Muslims were baying for Salman Rushdie's blood for writing The Satanic Verses, a British columnist, Ted Wolport, wrote in The London Times, "One book has the power to mobilize scores of religious morons across the world. Here lies the brainless impact not just of Islam but of all stupid and prehistoric faiths." Sadly, the same can be said of the overwhelming majority of zealots in India. Stalin's equating Hinduism with mosquitoes and Dengue is a prime time issue on TV channels. But hardly any debate revolves around young students committing suicide in Kota's coaching factories.
