ou must have heard BJP leader Mr. Advani claiming on TV channels: We don’t say that all Muslims are terrorists are Muslims, but this is also true that all terrorists are Muslims.” Such statements derive strengths from the type of statements people like Dr. Zakir Naik make. Dr. Naik openly says in his speeches freely available in English CDs: If Osama bin Laden is terrorising America, we are with him and every Muslim should be a terrorist.” This is the person who calls Yazeed, the Fasiq, Fajir and Maloon in Islamic gatherings Rahmatullah Alaih. Still some self-serving Muslims stand up in his defence…. If you can say that about some one who killed the family of Prophet Mohammad, then what about Narendra Modi and Togariya…? ….

We should be understand that we are living in a multi-cultural society like India, where double standards may be acceptable and can work, but Islam calls for purity of means as much as aims. …

We would like to appeal to Muslim intellectuals that they should come out and apprise our countrymen of the curious fact that this supporter of Osama bin Laden is not only travelling in the West freely on visas granted by Western countries but also receives funding freely from citizens of these countries in an atmosphere in which it has become very difficult for ordinary Muslims to get visas. ……

I totally agree that Maulana Maudoodi's Jamaat-e-Islami is the root cause of the radicalisation of Muslim Youth and their changing attitudes. This Jamaat along with another Jamaat called Tableeghi Jamaat have done more harm to the Islamic society than good. These two extreme Jamaats have interpreted Islam in their own way convenient to them. One is right extreme while the other is left extreme in the sense, that these people have not understood Islam in its totality. The radicals have come from the Wahhabi Sect, mostly from Saudi Wahhabi teachings. Rightly said, Maulana Maudoodi, a prolific writer and thinker himself, instead of confining himself to writing has taken people to one extreme of the religion. Firstly this has infested the oldies among the Muslims and then travelled to the young youth living in India and Pakistan. His radical views on Islam are not acceptable to Muslims who have studied and practiced Islam in its totality. These bearded followers of Maudoodi, became so extreme that they even called our Prophet PBUH, was nothing but an ordinary Messenger of Allah.
