Shab-e-Bara’t: The night of salvation
Shab-e-Barat falls on the 15th night of the month of Shaaban. It means the night of salvation as many people are granted pardon from hell in that night. Sheikh Abdul Qadir Geelani (R.A.) has written that many unfortunate people get salvation in that night. It is such an important night when decisions are taken about one's death and life, about provisions and other issues. In view of the great significance of this night, the Muslims should spend the night in prayers and recitations of the Quran and ask for Allah's forgiveness and benevolence and should not indulge in un-Islamic practices, says Maulana Asrarul Haq Qasmi.
