The Holy Qur’an is a book of guidance for all the people of the world. It has the solution of all the problems a human being may face, till the Last Day of the world. The Holy Qur’an is the continuation of the divine scriptures that were revealed by Allah, the Almighty and the All-Knower on various prophets of their times. From the day Allah, the Creator of the skies and the earth said ‘Kun’ and the world came into existence, in a matter of days, every aspect of human, animal and environmental life was planned for till the time this universe has to last.

Such a grand scheme like the life at the planet earth with all its beauties and enormous resources carried by the environment and the birds and animals needed a constitution of laws and regulations that can regulate the lives on the earth, thus came the revelation of the Holy Book, the Quran. The Book of immense knowledge and wisdom that could sustain for millenniums and millenniums namely, the Holy Quran, introduces itself as, ‘This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind)’. (Ayah at-Takwir: 27) - Muhammad Sarwar

Allah, the Most Gracious revealed various Holy Books and sent holy prophets so that the human beings could be guided to the ‘righteous path’ of salvation. The revealed guidelines that started from Torah and are completed with the Holy Qur’an has the recipe of a life full of divinity, humility and pluralism.

The mankind that accepted all that Allah, the Most Gracious, revealed, such as, the Holy Books and the Prophets in all the regions of the world, will be one among the blessed and those who did not, may Allah forgive their sins. Allah the Most Gracious says in the Holy Quran that it is a Book of Guidance for the people and that it is revealed to explain to them the matters that they differ. Consider the following Ayat:

We have sent down the Book to you, only because you may explain to them what they differed about, and (so that it may be) guidance and mercy for a people who believe. (Surah An-Nahl - 64) — Mufti Taqi Usmani

The Holy Qur’an, the Book of guidance was revealed on the Holy Messenger of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad Pbuh as a message through the blessed angel Jibreel (AS). Allah, the Most Gracious kept sending messages through Jibreel (AS) as and when needed to guide and command Prophet Muhammad Pbuh for the guidance of the masses on to the right path.

The Holy Quran was revealed in almost twenty-three years. The revelation continued from 609 CE to  632 CE. The first Ayat, Read: In the Name of your Lord... (Surah Al-'Alaq: 19) was revealed when the Holy Prophet was 40 and there are various opinions on the last revealed verse but according to the report of ibn Abbas the last verse revealed on the Holy Prophet was, ‘Fear the day when you shall be returned to Allah, then each soul shall be paid what it has earned, and they shall not be wronged. (2.281)

The Holy Quran has some beautiful verses that are promises of Allah, the Most Gracious to His people that reveal His essence of forgiveness, remembrance of His noble believers and the acknowledgement of the good deeds that the people perform along with innumerable characteristics that cannot be described as it is not in the power of a human being. Consider the following Ayat:

So remember me; I will remember you (Surah Baqarah: 152)

If you are grateful, I will surely increase you (in favours) (Surah Ibrahim: 7)

Call upon Me, I will respond to you (Surah Ghafir: 70)

And Allah (SWT) will not punish them, while they seek forgiveness ) Surah Al-Anfaal: 33)

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) answered the queries of the people with the revelations of the Holy Quran that he received whenever he called Allah, the Most Gracious for guidance. Following are some of the Ayat that answer the queries of the people who need it:

.... Say, “Allah is the witness between me and you, and this Qur’ān has been revealed to me so that I should thereby warn you, and whomsoever it may reach..... (Surah Al-An'am - 19)

... be patient until Allah gives His judgment, and He is the best of all judges. (Surah Yunus - 109)

.... No one can change the words of Allah,.... (Surah Al-An'am - 34)

Perfected are the laws of your Lord in truth and justice, and there is no changing His laws. He is all-hearing and all-knowing. (Surah Al-An'am - 115)

Reverence of the Holy Quran by the All-Time Scholars

The Holy Quran is revered by the scholarly people of every age, religion, community and region. Those who recite and or study it for the sole purpose of understanding it has never found any word that can be contested. Consider the following sayings of the renowned scholars and politicians whom the world acknowledges:

“My reading of the Quran has convinced me that the basis of Islam is not violence but is unadulterated peace". “It regards forbearance as superior to vengeance. The very word ‘Islam’ means peace, which is non-violence. - Mahatma Gandhi

"It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Qur'an about human development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God, or Allah because most of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of God or Allah."

"...Because the staging of human embryos is complex, owing to the continuous process of change during development, it is proposed that a new system of classification could be developed using the terms mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah. The proposed system is simple, comprehensive, and conforms with present embryological knowledge.

"The intensive studies of the Qur'an and Hadith in the last four years have revealed a system of classifying human embryos that is amazing since it was recorded in the seventh century A.D.

.. the descriptions in the Qur'an cannot be based on scientific knowledge in the seventh century... (Professor Moore; A former President of the Canadian Association of Anatomists, and of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists)

"Only the Qur’an could perfectly describe the truth of the Creator and created ones. Not only Muslims, but Christians and Jewish admit, too." - Marmaduke Pickthall

.... the Qur’an is full of truth and sincerity from the beginning to the end. The Prophet Muhammad’s (saw) invitation to the world is truth. - Thomas Carlyle

"Firstly, it is necessary to admit: The Qur’an is superior to all the religious books.... - Jochahim Du Ralph

O, Muhammad! I’m sad that I’m not in your time. The book you’re the teacher of and publisher of is not yours. It’s Holy. Denying its Holiness is as hilarious as claiming that science is fallacious. That’s why humanity will not see a distinguished powerful person like you once more. I bend the knee of deep reverence in your presence.” - Prince Bismarck

"As we sift through Qur'an, we identify Its perfection and highness..... - Edmond (British Politician)

All the Abrahamic religions and religious faiths accept that the Creator of the universe is one and revere that Almighty power who completed the Deen Islam on Prophet Muhammad Pbuh and the Holy Quran. And Allah, the All-Knower asks in the Holy Quran from those who doubt:

‘So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny?’ - (Surah Ar-Rahman - 13)

We need to ask The Almighty Allah’s favours in these trying times. It is the whole world that is amidst one of the most horrifying times that has engulfed the people in its deadly clutch. People do not seem to be getting relief from the communal frenzy, the supremacist feelings and the deadly pandemic soon. We need to bring forward our humane traits and work towards spreading the message of a brotherly and pluralistic society.

And Allah Knows the Best.
