Holy Prophet Pbuh Disapproved This Practice Of Exalting A Particular Prophet Above Other Prophets
Main Points:
1. The holy Quran gives an account of the lives and times of many prophets of God.
2. Quran says that all the prophets were chosen people of God and exalted in virtue.

The holy Quran gives an account of the lives and times of many prophets of God. It deals with the life and affairs of some prophets in detail. The Quran says that all the prophets were chosen people of God and exalted in virtue. God gave every prophet a unique virtue. God says in the Quran,
"Of those messengers We have exalted some above others in virtue; to some of them Allah spoke and some of them He exalted in degrees and We gave clear evidences to Jesus son of Mary and strengthened him with the Holy Spirit."(Al Baqarah: 285)
The Quran also says that those who believe in God do not make any distinction between His prophets.
"All of them (believers) have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, (saying) "We make no distinction between any of His messengers"(Al Baqarah: 285)
There are a couple of hadiths which echo the message of this verse of the Quran. The holy prophet pbuh asked Muslims not to exalt him above other prophets.
Abu Sayeed Khudri r.a. narrated,
'The holy prophet pbuh said, “Listen! Do not exalt me above other prophets"(Sahih Bukhari; Kitab ud Diyat; 1810)
There is another hadith with the same message.
Abu Sayeed Khudri r.a. narrated,
'One of the Jews came to the prophet pbuh. Someone had slapped him, He said to the prophet pbuh, 'One of your Ansari companions has slapped me.' The holy prophet pbuh asked people to call the Ansari. When he came, the holy prophet pbuh asked him, 'Why did you slap him?' The man replied, 'O messenger of God, 'I was passing by them when I heard him saying, 'I swear by God who chose Hadhrat Musa from among all the men. ‘I asked him, ‘Is Hadhrat Musa superior to even Prophet Mohammad pbuh?' I got angry and slapped him. The holy prophet pbuh said, 'Do not exalt me above other prophets. On the Day of Judgment, all the people will fall unconscious because of the awe and fear of God. Then I shall be the first to come to my senses but I shall see that Hadhrat Musa a.s. will already be standing holding a corner of Arsh (Throne). I can't say if he will regain his senses before me or he will not fall unconscious in the first place perhaps because he had fallen unconscious at the Mountain of Tur in the world and so he will not fall unconscious in the Hereafter.'(Sahih Bukhari; Kitab-ud-Diyat; 1011)
From this hadiths it is clear that the Jews exalted Hadhrat Musa a.s. above all other prophets. But the holy prophet pbuh disapproved this practice of exalting a particular prophet above other prophets.
