Permissible To Have Sex Slaves In Islam:UK Imam
August 1, 2016
In a rather shocking claim, a British Muslim cleric has said it is ‘permissible’ under Islam tohave sex slaves.Ali Hammuda, an imam at a Cardiff mosque, explained a series of Hadiths (sayings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH) saying one of them could be interpreted as meaning that one of the signs of Doomsday will be when a slave girl gives birth to her master.“One of the interpretations as to what this means is that towards the end of time there will bemany wars like what we are seeing today, and because of these wars women will be taken ascaptives, as slaves, yeah, women will be taken as slaves,” he said.Islamic State using birth control to keep supply of sex slavesThe cleric’s extraordinary preachings were recorded secretly at a religious study circle, at the
Al-Manar mosque by an undercover reporter. During his talk, the cleric also told boys asyoung as 13 that the “day of judgment is close”.“And then, er, her master has relations with her because this is permissible in Islam, it’s permissible to have relations with a woman who is your slave or your wife.”Hammuda, the English Islamic Programmes officer at the mosque, is accused of radicalising
three British citizens who travelled to Syria to join Islamic State. Nasser Muthana andReyaad Khan, then 20, and Muthana’s younger brother Aseel, then 17 – left for Syria in 2014.The Palestine-born imam also said that another interpretation of the saying of the Prophet (PBUH) is that children would come to treat their mothers like slaves. “The one I think is strongest is that towards the end of time you will see a lot of Muslims disobeying their mothers and fathers… you see children speaking to their mothers and fathers as if they are your slave.”  The recordings were made by Hardcash Productions in an investigation into militants in October 2014, only weeks after reports of Islamic State atrocities against the minority Yazidi sect in northern Iraq, whose women were enslaved, raped or executed after being captured by the IS fighters. Hammuda also said that music was ‘a sickness’ and a ‘tool of Satan’. Undercover reporter Rizwan Syed, who made the recordings, also found a range of extremist literature available such as Music Made Me Do It, which describes the harmful social, psychological and physical effects of music on individuals. Yazidi teenager escaped Islamic State, appeals for help for sex slaves “I saw books preaching brutal violence, sexism, homophobia, aggressive physical jihad, dismemberment and capital punishment implemented by the state. It reinforces the idea that what these militant groups are doing, what IS is doing, is legitimised by history,” Syed said. The Al-Manar mosque has hosted a series of visiting extremist preachers, including Muhammad Mustafa Al-Muqri, an al Qaeda ally and ex-leader of Egyptian Islamic Jihad. The mosque, however, has denied links with radicalism. Speaking about it earlier this week, Hammuda said he had always unequivocally condemned both the ideology and actions of ‘so-called Islamic State’. “I have lectured on this a number of times, including dedicating a number of Friday sermons to the condemnation of this evil phenomena. The undercover recording and quotations referred to seem to have been deliberately taken out of context to portray a religious perspective that I do not ascribe to.” One of Britain’s leading moderate clerics, Imam Shahid Raza, has denounced slavery as violating the ‘dignity’ of human beings and only IS supporters would use the passage to claim it is permissible. “There is a consensus among 99 per cent of Islamic scholars – it’s only a few radicals that do not agree with it – that slavery is against the laws of Islam, and the dignity of the human being.” Bacha bazi: Afghan subculture of child sex slaves “What the Daesh [Islamic State] people have done to the Yazidis is completely unIslamic.Islam came into this world in an environment where slavery was practised, but over time, it banned it with laws and brought it to an end. The Hadith this man is quoting is good [authentic], but no scholar ever interprets it literally. Most scholars interpret it as the Prophet (PBUH) saying there will come a time when children will boss their parents so much that they appear to treat their parents like slaves,” he added.
He went on to say, “That Hadith is interpreted as justifying sexual slavery only by Daesh types. You have to realise that slavery is both banned in Islam and also banned by the law of the land.”

Taliban publicly execute 19-year-old girl in North of Afghanistan
Tue Aug 02 2016
The Taliban militants have publicly executed a 19-year-old girl in northern Sar-e-Pul province on charges of abandoning her family due to a domestic issue.
According to local officials, the girl, identified as Azada, was first tried in a desert court and was then shot dead by her brother and Taliban militants.
Provincial governor’s spokesman Zabiulllah Amani said the incident took place on Monday in Kohistanat district.
He said the girl had taken shelter in a safe house after she left her home around two months ago but was brought back to home by her brother.
Amani further added that the girl was taken out of the shelter after her brother promised to ensure her safety.
The latest involving public execution of a girl by the Taliban militants and her family member comes amid growing violence against the women across the country.
Earlier a 22-year-old woman was shot dead by her relatives on charges of having relations with an stranger over the telephone.
The woman was identified as Gul Jan and was allegedly been killed by the family of her husband in Pashtunkot district.
The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) in its report released late in November last year said “statistic of violence against women, obtained from the registered cases of violence against women during the first six months in 1394 exceeds 2579 cases.”
The report further added that figure was reported 2403 cases during the six months in 1393 which shows 7.32 percent increase in 1394, the last solar year.

Nigeria halts film village plans after Muslim clerics' protest
2nd August 2016
The decision deals a blow to a booming industry, developers said, as the centre was to generate thousands more jobs in a city hit with staggering unemployment.
Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, an adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, said the cancellation answered the wishes of the local population.
"The people have had their say and the government has heeded them," he told reporters last week after months of discord.
The project, to be built on a 20-hectare (nearly 50-acre) expanse near Kano, planned for a film center, a 400-capacity auditorium, a hostel, a sound stage, a restaurant, a three-star hotel, a shopping mall, a stadium and a clinic.
Salafist clerics blasted it in Friday sermons, saying it would promote immorality and undermine Islamic values.
"We don't want it, we don't need it, they should take it somewhere. We will continue to curse the people behind this film village," said Abdullahi Usman Gadon-Kaya, who spearheaded the protest.
Joined by critics on local radio and the social media, they drowned out those in favour of the film village.
Danjuma Wurim Dadu of the Nigerian Film Corporation had told a film conference in Kano that more than $3 million had been set aside for the centre, which he said was to create 10,000 jobs.
It aimed to boost the massively popular local film industry known as "Kannywood", which, according to the national film censors agency, accounts for 38 percent of film production in Nigeria -- a country that already turns out the second highest number of films per year worldwide after India's Bollywood.
"This is a missed opportunity to provide much-needed jobs for the teeming unemployed youth, who have turned to drugs for solace", local film analyst Mudan Saidu told AFP.
Film producer Sani Muazu said the project would have helped improve film quality and generate further revenue by boosting production of top-quality television commercials.
Kano's economy had a thriving textile industry in the 1980s but started declining due to electricity shortages, high lending rates and competition from cheap imports.
The downturn forced more than 400 of Kano's 500 factories to close, leaving thousands without work and Kano with the highest unemployment in the country, according to the National Directorate of Employment.
The advent of "Kannywood" -- named after Kano -- offered a new source of jobs.
It started in 1992 with seven production companies, and expanded over the next decade to 268 production outfits and 315 editing studios, employing more than 60,000 people, according to the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN).
Nigeria is well known for its "Nollywood" video production which churns out about 200 films a month in the country's educated and urban south. Shot in English as well as the local Yoruba and Igbo languages, they are popular throughout west Africa.
The northern Kannywood has huge appeal among the 60 million Hausa speakers, a language widely spoken across west Africa.
In its 2010 report, the World Bank estimated that Nigerian film industry overall was generating $1 billion a year to the economy.
But Muslim clerics have kept close watch on Kannywood, accusing it of promoting un-Islamic foreign values by imitating American Hollywood and Indian Bollywood movies, a charge film makers have denied.
While Nollywood and Kannywood focus on similar themes -- love, romance, black magic and betrayal, the Kano-made films follow a strict code in which men and women do not touch and actresses respect the reputation of women in traditional Islamic society.
In 2008, a sex video involving a popular Kannywood actress in Kano gave clerics the ammunition they needed against the industry.
The video, filmed two years earlier on a cellphone during a private tryst, was never intended for public distribution but got onto the cellphone circuit, causing an uproar from clerics and prompting a six-month government ban that cost the industry $29 million in lost revenue.
Mutual resentment between the clerics and film makers has grown since.
The film village, named after President Buhari, was initiated by Abdulmumin Jibrin, a lawmaker representing Kano in the House of Representives in Abuja.
But Jibrin has been accused of unilaterally inserting the project in the budget without the approval of either the president or the house.

Mob attacks Muslim family over cow slaughter, two days on no police case filed yet
August 2, 2016
Two days after a mob attacked the house of a Muslim family at Kadali in UP’s Muzaffarnagar district on suspicion of cow slaughter, local police is yet to lodge a case against those who were part of the mob. On Monday, Khatauli Police arrested Saddam (28), the nephew of house owner Zeeshan, who was earlier arrested.
A local court has sent both Zeeshan and Saddam, who have been arrested under the state’s Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, to judicial custody for 14 days. Police is still looking for Saddam’s brother Parvez (24) and Zeeshan’s wife Shehnaz (50).
Asked why they were yet to lodge a complaint against those who attacked Zeeshan’s residence, SHO, Khatauli police station, Pankaj Tyagi said they are still probing the incident.
“The damaged wall was not a pucca wall. When 30-odd people gathered outside, the cattle at Zeeshan’s residence panicked. We suspect the movement of the cattle, and not the protesters, caused the damage to the wall. However, we will examine the footage available and accordingly take action,” he said.
Asked if police had identified the people suspected to have attacked Zeeshan’s house, Tyagi said, “According to informers, some local residents were present. But, most of them were from neighbouring village Mandwadi.”
Tyagi said they had found the carcass of a calf from Zeeshan’s residence. Another calf was found untouched.
“There is no dispute over the presence of a slaughtered calf at Zeeshan’s residence and we have mentioned it in the FIR. However, the meat has been sent for examination.”
On Monday, local BJP leader Dr Nirbhaya Sharanshank told the gathering that he had asked BJP leaders from neighbouring districts not to visit the village. He later told The Indian Express, “Considering the situation, I asked BJP leaders from outside, including Sangeet Som, to not visit the village. There were no BJP leaders during the protests. But the village is tense and I don’t want the issue to be used for political reasons,” he said.
He, however, added that “Bajrang Dal” members were present outside Zeeshan’s house during the protests. “I cannot identify them, but people from Bajrang Dal were present,” he said.
Local Pradhan Pawan Kumar Saini said, “Eyewitnesses saw Saddam and Parvez secretly taking two calves to Zeeshan’s house. They had placed a curtain where the slaughter was to take place. But, when eyewitnesses saw them with a knife sharpener, it was confirmed that they were carrying out the slaughter.”
Saini added that Zeeshan and Parvez recently received bail in another case of cow slaughter. “They were arrested only three months back, but were later released on bail. They are repeated offenders and local residents have complained against them earlier,” he said.
Circle Officer Hari Ram Yadav said: “We request that any information about illegal activities like cow slaughter should be reported to police. However, this does not mean one can take law in his hands and attack the accused. In the last two days, rumours of violence in the village have been spread. This is because local residents have allowed outsiders to take advantage of the incident. It will be in the village’s interest that both communities do not allow spread of such rumours.”

Coup attempt cost Turkey’s economy $100 billion: Trade Minister
Tuesday,August 2 2016
The failed attempted coup on July 15 has cost the Turkish economy 300 billion Turkish Liras (around $100 billion), according to initial calculations, Customs and Trade Minister Bülent Tüfenkci has said.
This amount may however increase when more detailed calculations are made, he added.
“When we consider all those warplanes, helicopters, weapons, bombs and buildings, the cost is 300 billion liras at minimum according to our prior calculations. The exact cost may likely increase when the detailed calculations are made. There will also be various costs in the medium-term. For instance, many orders from abroad have been canceled. Many foreigners have halted their Turkey visits. The coup plotters have unfortunately created a Turkey image as if it were a third world country. People who see tanks in the streets and the parliament bombed will not come to Turkey. All of these create costs in the medium-term,” Tüfenkci said in a meeting with a group of journalists in Ankara.
