Applications from anyone studying, or wishing to study, on courses in science, agriculture or environmental protection, and willing to use their skills for the benefit of the peoples of the Indian sub-continent (I.e. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) will be considered at all times of the year. Successful applicants will generally be sent an award of about £500. Please note that this Trust receives far more applications than it is able to support. Applicants should write for an application form to the contact, giving brief details about themselves, their course and their future plans. The Student Islamic Trust:
Scholarship for IIT JEE preparation for financially weak .
The whole Programme is divided into four phases; Each phase is followed by one week of preparatory leave for Phase Test. Any of the Phase Test may be considered as "Reshuffling Test", i.e. student's batch can be changed as per his/her performance in these tests to maintain the homogeneous level of competence among students. In this regard decision of concerned authorities will be final and binding.
The total fees of this course will be 55,000/- which will be paid by the Student Islamic Trust to the deserving candidates.

Ikhwanweb: Will the Brotherhood's assuming of power lead to instability in the region?

Habib: Firstly: At this time I believe if elections are held I can say that Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood will not get more than 30% if the elections are judged to be free, fair and transparent. The reasons are evident because of complications.

Secondly: The movement is counting on the Egyptian public and we cannot compete for power at the moment. However, the Brotherhood can compete for power only when the positive values dominate the negative; with regards to the Egyptian people. The interest of the general public must be seen as more significant than the private and personal interests. Respecting the free will of the public along with the willingness to giving and sacrificing time, effort and money will result in the changing political and legal climate allowing for the free formation of political parties.

Thirdly: Intervention by the force of public opinion, are the Egyptians only hope and the only chance of establishing democracy in which the people have the ability to impose their own free will and choose their governors, legislators and the program that carries and reflects their hopes; this can successfully be done by revealing their dreams and their aspirations through the ballot box. The rulers should be held accountable for the misconduct and punished if they have violated the law, neglected their duties or deviated from the program in which they have vowed to accomplish.

Combating Terrorism: Is Democracy The Answer?

Noting that there were a large number of democracies that differed from each other in many respects, he wanted to make clear that the task of catching or preventing acts of terrorism was the task of forces of security and law and order and the intelligence services. It was a task which required lots of discipline but which must be carried out within the framework of the rule of law — 'no matter how evil you may think terrorists are they have as many freedoms as anyone else…it must not be presumed that a terrorist, just because he's going to kill people, has no human rights.'

Lord Desai said that terrorism had to be seen as a political programme, an ideology; a political programme to capture power. 'Power should be in the hands of the ethnicity that the terrorist represents and their legitimate grievances and claims are such that ordinary procedures should be set aside, with power ceded to the terrorist group.'

Many of the terrorist incidents of the last 50 years have arisen from a grievance that a certain group thinks they deserve power and somehow they have been thwarted from achieving it for one reason or another. Often they have a national perspective and nationalist programme.
