The
Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Mr Tejender Khanna said that the message of the
great sufi saints needed to be spread as they preach humanity and peace. A
mehfil-e-sama(qawwali session) was organised by the Hasan Ara Trust at the India
Habitat Centre coinciding with the Urs of Hadhrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in
which Mr Khanna was the chief guest. The renowned sufi singer and musician Adil
Hussaini Haidrabadi presented the mystic verses of Maulana Rumi, Amir Khusrau,
Bulle Shah, Kabir and other sufi poets and spellbound the audience. In her
inaugural speech, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dixit said that mysticism
built bridges and there was a need to spread the message of peace the sufi
saints.
On this
occasion, Singer Adil Husseini was conferred the Amir Khusrau Fakhre Hind
Award.
